Museum Statistics
The following statistics give an overview of data on the museums in the participating European countries. At present, the statistics do not provide overall or uniform tables of comparable data and overviews in a cross-country manner. The national reports" show that the data collected in the individual countries follow differing patterns and definitions so they cannot simply be placed side by side, into a single table, without many comments.
The table gives information about all topics of all participating countries from various years (which is due to the fact that the information given was updated by some countries whereas other countries haven't had new data available).
By filling in the blank spaces for "country" and "year" you will get a selection of the table for your chosen criteria.
ALOKMI - Abridged List of Key Museum Indicators
A first provisional table - "ALOKMI (Abridged List of Key Museum Indicators)" - has been created. As a first step to comparison, it puts together a large number of relevant data from the various countries in a single table. This table gives information about different topics of all participating countries from various years, depending on the availability of the data.
Metadata Study
Based on data from 19 countries, this analysis explores how museum statistics are defined and structured across Europe. It highlights key differences and shared foundations, offering a pragmatic approach to improving comparability.
